Abstract

This live is part of the Information Records project: dialogues between Librarianship, Archival Science and Information Science (CI); coordinated by the Superintendent of the University Library System (SIBI/UFBA), Professor Ivana Borges Lins, in partnership with the Information Science Institute (ICI)/UFBA. In the interview with Prof. Dr. Ivana Lins (ICI-SIBI-UFBA), Prof. Dr. Kátia de Oliveira Rodrigues (ICI-UFBA) talked about her professional experiences as coordinator of the EAD Librarianship course and addressed the following topics: the distance course of Librarianship at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), its emergence, advantages and disadvantages of the course in face-to-face and distance learning formats, a job market for professionals trained through distance learning, a university library and support for distance learning courses. The teacher highlighted the scope of the course and the possibility of meeting the repressed demand that exists in the interior of the State of Bahia.
