Entrelaces entre mediação de leitura e a biblioteconomia como ações de integração social na terceira idade

Abstract

The elderly population has grown more and more and based on these inferences it is perceived the need to adopt practices that can contribute to the quality of life in old age. Objective: To analyze and establish relationships of bibliotherapy and reading mediation practices applied to the elderly, so that it can be demonstrated that both activities use reading and literary resources to achieve the same end. Methodology: Descriptive research that adopted the bibliographic method. Conclusions: It was observed that bibliotherapy is a specialized action of reading mediation, which has therapeutic purposes and can collaborate with the social integration of the elderly. For this, it is necessary that the librarian recognizes himself as a social agent when performing actions of bibliotherapy and reading mediation.
