TRADUÇÕES POÉTICAS E NÃO POÉTICAS DOS TECHNOPAEGNIA DE SÍMIAS DE RODES: O MACHADO, AS ASAS E O OVO

Abstract

Abstract: In this monograph, I did two translations of the Simias of Rhodes' Technopaegnia (3rd century BC), an Greek Hellenistic poet. His three poems are calligrams, shaped like an axe, wings and an egg. I did calligrammatic poetic translations in which I also tried to simulate the forms of the source texts in order to enhance the formal marks of his writings. Furthermore, considering that the verses of Simias have a rhythmic scheme, I carried out a metric translation, using traditional schemes of the Portuguese language. I did translations in prose, also aiming to contemplate readers who seek translations semantically closer to the Greek edition. Finally, it should be noted that I also carried out a study of a rhetorical nature, in order to better understand the examined corpus.
