Between 2015 and 2016, Brazil faced an epidemic of the Zika virus, resulting in a significant number of children born with Congenital Zika Syndrome (CZS). This syndrome, resulting from Zika virus infection during pregnancy, can cause a pattern of multiple disabilities in the fetus, significantly impacting its language development process. Considering that many of these individuals are currently of school age, reaching the Early Years of Elementary Education, the phonological development of th...
The oil and gas industry annually faces significant equipment losses and product quality degradation due to the presence of sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB), which are common in marine environments. To mitigate these impacts, biocides are frequently employed. However, these compounds can interact unpredictably with the environment, affect biodiversity, require continuous application—thereby increasing operational costs—and promote SRB resistance and adaptation through stress induced by the bio...

A civil interdiction and guardianship have undergone contemporary adaptations, stemming from the changes fostered by the New York Convention (2007), which encouraged member countries to promote autonomy practices through monitoring and support strategies. However, in Brazil, there is a tendency to maintain total guardianships, legitimizing absolute incapacity, heteronomy, and restricting the exercise of civil rights for these individuals. As a consequence, there is interference in the process...
In the 2000s, the Internet became popular in Brazil. Internet users also started using it to take care of their health. This new way of interacting needed to be studied. There were no theoretical and/or conceptual references about taking care of your health on the Internet. The research assumption was that the Internet, through the devices it provides, enables people to produce, re-signify and act in different ways to care for and interact with the needs of self-care, care, exchanges between ...
The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, emerged at the end of 2019, leading to millions of infections and deaths worldwide. This thesis, presented in three articles, is the result of research grounded in a phenomenological approach and theoretical frameworks developed by European and Latin American feminist s...
“Aquilombada. I resist. Let's forge a new world!” This is a passage that echoes throughout the writing of this thesis. It comes from a song that is part of my process of becoming an activist and our form of organization: aquilombadas. Writing about black women activists comes from the desire to reverence our ancestry, to make visible the experiences that break with the destiny organized by anti-black racism, and to empower the existence of women builders of a new world. Activism, in this sens...
