Romances de Vida-Seca: diálogos entre geografia e literatura nos lugares “Das Alagoas”

Abstract

Neste trabalho busca-se problematizar as possibilidades reais de entrelaçamento da Geografia com a Literatura, entendida como manifestação artística. Com o intuito de analisar a combinação entre a densidade desse campo científico com a delicadeza e o prazer que as artes proporcionam aos sujeitos percebe-se que este é um campo científico amplo que se diferencia e destaca-se na sua capacidade de perceber, vivenciar, envolver e interpretar assuntos dos mais diversos estudos sejam eles voltados à natureza ou na construção social das relações objetivas e subjetivas que a permeiam. O contato da Geografia com as artes e especificamente com a literatura, exemplifica muito bem a dinâmica deste campo científico permitindo ao geógrafo contemporâneo ampliar suas possibilidades de pesquisa. Autores como Paul Claval (2008, 2010, 2014), Roberto Lobato Corrêa (2003, 2004, 2007) e Armand Frémont (1980) trazem grandes contribuições à corrente cultural da Geografia ao analisarem com forte viés subjetivo categorias como região, lugar e espaço, com destaque para a união entre os estudos geográficos e literários. Estas novas abordagens da Geografia cultural em romances regionalistas nacionais só contribuem para ampliação, embasamento e discussão teórica dessa vertente geográfica. Além desta contribuição acadêmica, torna-se interessante também discutir o caráter regional das obras literárias e os fatores que as compõem, interpretando estes lugares sertanejos, múltiplos e carregados de intersubjetividades que coadunam com as concepções de lugar na Geografia. Para além disto, o contexto paisagístico fortemente presente nos romances, permite ao leitor refletir, criticamente, sobre as características políticas, econômicas e sociais da região nordestina reveladas na escrita do autor alagoano Graciliano Ramos.

ABSTRACT In this work, we seek to problematize the real possibilities of interweaving of Geography with Literature, understood as artistic manifestation. In order to analyze the combination of the density of this scientific field with the delicacy and pleasure that the arts provide the subjects, it is perceived that this is a broad scientific field that differs and stands out in its capacity to perceive, to involve and to interpret subjects of the most diverse studies they are directed to the nature or in the social construction of the objective and subjective relations that permeate it. The contact of geography with the arts and specifically with literature, exemplifies very well the dynamics of this scientific field allowing the contemporary geographer to expand his research possibilities. Roberto Lobato Corrêa (2003, 2004, 2007) and Armand Frémont (1980) bring great contributions to the cultural current of Geography by analyzing with a strong subjective bias categories such as region, place and space, with emphasis on the union between geographical and literary studies. These new approaches to cultural geography in national regionalist novels only contribute to the broadening, grounding and theoretical discussion of this geographical aspect. In addition to this academic contribution, it is also interesting to discuss the regional character of literary works and the factors that compose them, interpreting these sertanejos places, multiple and loaded with intersubjectivities that correspond to the conceptions of place in Geography. Moreover, the landscape context strongly present in the novels, allows the reader to reflect, critically, on the political, economic and social characteristics of the northeastern region revealed in the writing of the author Alagoano Graciliano Ramos.
